Are My Taxes Being Delayed as a Result of the COVID-19 Outbreak ?
Yes.
Resources have been limited due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Regarding E-filed Tax Returns with Direct Deposit:
Typically, the IRS will process your tax return within 21 Business days (weekends not included). Due to these delays, we are asking all clients to please allow an additional 2-3 week for processing.
Regarding Mailed Returns:
Typically, the IRS asks to allow 4 weeks before checking the status. Refund processing time is 6 to 8 weeks from the date the IRS receives your tax return.
Unfortunately, due to health concerns the IRS HAS STOPPED PROCESSING MAILED RETURNS. There is no word as of yet when the IRS will begin processing paper returns again.
Dated: April 15, 2020
How Do I Contact the IRS ?
Typically, you would contact that IRS at 1-800-829-1040.
Unfortunately, the IRS is “unable to provide live assistance due to reduced staff levels”.
As a result, Cloud Accounting Professionals is unable to communicate with the IRS. Until the IRS reopens live communications, any matter involving IRS assistance has been placed on hold.
